Who are we

The association for air-tightness in buildings (FLiB e.V.), Kassel, counts for more than 260 members (level: June 2006) from Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as other European countries. Engineering offices which perform air-tightness measurements are the most highly represented. In addition, scientists, providers of mesurement-systems, salesmen and producers of products for air sealing of buildings and other associations with similar interests are also represented in "FLiB”.

The widespread competence of the members is presently used in four working groups and committees. Visible results of their work are for example the FliB-supplementary [in German] supplementary sheet for the European measurement standard DIN EN 13829, published in 2002; a check list of certification measurements according to the energy saving regulation (Energieeinsparverordnung) published in 2005 and the brochure "Technical recommendations and supplements to DIN 4108-7" [in German].

The chairman is university professor Dr.-Ing. Gerd Hauser, chief of "Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik” in Stuttgart and his deputy is Sigrid Dorschky (Ingenieurgemeinschaft Bau + Energie + Umwelt GmbH, Springe). The management of "FLiB" is the sole responsibility of Dipl.-Ing. Torsten Bolender from "Ingenieurbüro n₅₀” in Kassel.
