Aims

One of the tasks of the association for air-tightness in buildings (FLliB e.V.), Kassel, is to inform the public about the major importance of an air-tight building shell. The association substantiates the prior art by laying down technical rules and commenting on relevant standards. And it also contributes to legislative and standardization procedures.

The "FLiB"is also committed to research and development. The association develops uniform measuring standards, provides standards to synchronize measuring procedures and offers certifications for persons and companies, which construct air-tight building shells or conduct air-tightness measurements. The superior aim always remains the quality assurance in buildings.

The association performs a number of surveys at irregular intervals in order to get an indication of the of air-tightness measurements carried out by the members. The "FLiB” provides information about details of air-tight constructions and proper materials and products.

The association supports the developement of criteria for products evaluation or checking with the aim of ensuring an independent quality control. Better quality and safety standards in planning and building costruction should be guaranteed.
